I’m Back!

Hello, I’ve know that I haven’t posted in several months, and I apologize. I just entered high school, and life is crazy. I will try my best to get a post in at least once in two weeks. And big news, I got a new camera: Nikon D5200. I’m really happy about this, I’ve been asking for a  DSLR for a while now.

I’ve been taking a lot of pictures with my new the past few months. Here are some of my shots:

That was pretty much the summary my photography in summer and fall. Winter is just around the corner! If you are interested in seeing more of my photography, click on the one of the pictures from my flickr photo stream>>>

Horseback Riding

Hello everyone, I apologize for not posting. All of my school work got in the way, and I just couldn’t fir it into my schedule.

The past few weeks, I have been horseback riding again.

Day 15: What Dish Would a Restaurant Name After me?

Hello everyone! I have 16 strikes in the post a day challenge.

I got the idea of this post from a blog called The Daily Post. This site gives daily prompts for new posts which you can use if you are running low on ideas. It also features a weekly challenge. The challenges can have to do with photography, or writing. I’d probably do the Photography challenge.

Back to the topic of the post, I would be a dish called…Precious Chocolate Shark Cake.

I chose Precious, because my name, Amulya, means precious in Kannada.

I put in chocolate because I love chocolate.

And last, my name is similar to a word in Russian which means Shark. Aкула, or akula. I like sharks too, so it fits in!

This is what it would look like:

Thanks to all the other Shark cakes on CC for the inspiration. I carved this from a 30cm loaf tin and a 4inch square, chocolate cake covered in white chocolate ganache and coloured fondant.

The inside of the cake would be chocolate. I like the blue frosting, though.

I would love to try this cake sometime. 🙂

Here is the link for the post I used for a prompt:

Post a Day Challenge

Hello everyone!

I recently read one of my friends posts about something called the Post a Day Challenge. This friend is violinplayer10101, or Jenny over at http://dreaminpastelcolors.wordpress.com/

This idea sounded challenging and interesting enough for me to give it a try.

The Post a Day Challenge lasts for one month. This is going to be a hard challenge, because I have to keep coming up with ideas for a post everyday, and I have to fit it into my daily schedule. Perhaps this challenge will help develop discipline, not just with blogging, but with other things in life as well.

Starting from the 24th of June, I will write a post each day on this blog.

Storm Planet

Hey everyone!

I felt like creating a new WordPress blog, so I did.

It’s called Storm Planet. I made up that name by thinking about planets, and whether it was going to rain.  Don’t ask. That’s how my creativity works these days.

Here’s the link: http://strormplanet.wordpress.com/

I don’t have any real posts on it yet.

Also, I’m going to try to make a post everyday on this blog, since we are getting rid of of the posting schedule. IT’s okay if there are double posts on some days. It doesn’t hurt anyone!

That’s all for now.

Posting Schedule + Friendship

Hey everybody!

This blog has been kind of inactive lately, and I am starting to consider getting rid of the posting schedule. I need the author’s of this blog to give me their input on whether to keep or eliminate the posting schedule.

It does not seem like it is needed at the moment, for a daily routine of posting has not been established. It simply just takes up space in the sidebar.

I’ve been thinking about all my friends and how the school year has been with them.

Whenever I think about school friends, the first person that comes to my mind is Jenny. She’s been such a great friend to me. She was the one who helped me through hard times and guided me through my messy Venomstrike life. (You know exactly what i’m talking about, Jenny!)

Jenny is the one I have shared the most laughs and thoughts with. I’m sure to hang on to her forever! 😀

(I just had to put a smiley face in here)

Another friend of mine is one i’m not sure wants her name up on the internet.

We became good friends just this year, and had loads of fun in class. She was always a loyal class project partner, and never failed to impress me with her colorful math notebook.

We sure did have a good time in class, and I hope to maintain the friendship we built over the past nine months.

The last friend I want to talk about is one I also met this year.

She is crazy, funny and a good person to hang out with in class when you want to goof off. Surprisingly, she was very open to me about her love life secrets. I have no idea why.

We shared a lot of laughs and giggles together, and got yelled at by the teacher for talking. It was fun, though.

She is a great friend, and one I wish to keep for a long time.

Spring Flowers

Spring has come, which means lots of  flowers! Yesterday I planted vegetables and flowers.

There were a few flowers which were planted in late March, which have bloomed already.

But before I share pictures of them, I need to make an announcement. I am going to get rid of the animal of the week widget, because it’s kind of pointless. I will replace it with the song of the week.

I just pick songs which I like that week. 🙂

I will put the song of the week at the bottom of this post.

Here are the flowers:

Yellow and white Daffodils.

That’s all I have for spring flowers, but I have a two bonuses.

This is a cactus inside my house.

Come & Get It, by Selena Gomez

BTW, to get to the music, skip to 0:39.

Updates~ Books, Drawings and New Jewelry

Hi everybody!

Every once on a while I do an update post to share what’s new with me!

A few days ago, I went to the library and checked out some books. I checked out two books, called Walk Two Moons, by Sharon Creech, and The Midnight Palace, by Carlos Ruiz Zafon.

I’ve been told that Walk Two Moons is a good book, so i’m looking forward to reading it!

Next, I shopped at Forever 21, and bought a necklace. It’s awesome!

Here it is:

Cool, right?

Last but not least,

I drew a picture of a fire breathing dragon. It turned out pretty good, so i’ll share it with you.
