I’m Back!

Hello, I’ve know that I haven’t posted in several months, and I apologize. I just entered high school, and life is crazy. I will try my best to get a post in at least once in two weeks. And big news, I got a new camera: Nikon D5200. I’m really happy about this, I’ve been asking for a  DSLR for a while now.

I’ve been taking a lot of pictures with my new the past few months. Here are some of my shots:

Lookin’ Out My Back Door

Today’s daily prompt from the daily post is Lookin’ Out My Back Door “Look out your back window or door — describe what you see, as if you were trying to convey the scene to someone from another country or planet.”

When I look out my back door, I see a series of things. The first thing which catches my eye is the vegetable garden. It is a couple of feet high, and has soil filled in it almost to the top. A wooden barrier or boundary surrounds the garden, with a step stool in front for people to tend to the garden.

Another thing I notice is the next door house. They have a fence which separates our property from theirs. There is a small rectangular window in the side of the home. There are two pine trees in the backyard, a little taller than our house.

Coming in closer to my house, there is a deck, a reddish-brown color. Robins, sparrows, doves, and occasionally hawks or cardinals perch on the railing. They play, fight, and feed. In the spring, sometimes I even see small chicks learning how to fly.

Colorful Sunset

A beautiful sunset taken from a plane.  I had to use an iPhone, since I didn’t have my camera.

Fallen Leaves

Finally, all the leaves on the maple tree in my front yard fell to the ground. The whole yard was covered in red leaves, like a carpet! This gave me a wonderful photograph opportunity.

Photo-shopped Bubbles and a Bunneh

This afternoon I went outside with my mom and photographed bubbles. The pictures didn’t turn out too great, so I photo shopped them.

Egg Shells

This morning, my mom was using eggs to prepare a dish, so I asked if I could have the egg shells. The reason for this was that I had a photography idea.

It’s kind of cute.

As a bonus, I took a picture of the almost-full moon. I believe the forecast said it was going to be very cloudy on the night of the full moon, so I decided to photograph it the day before.

Unfortunately, my camera isn’t too good at photographing night time pictures, so it came out grainy.

An Attempt At Bokeh

Yesterday evening I visited the arboretum.

As I was trying to photograph a tree, while I was trying to get the lens to focus, I saw a bokeh-ish picture through the camera. So, I snapped a picture.

It’s not that good, but this count’s as bokeh, right?

Day 6: Animals, Mountains and Rock Formations

Hello everyone!

I did not post yesterday, but it is still day 6 of the post a day challenge. Strike 1…

Yesterday I climbed the Revanasiddeshvara mountain in India. There is a temple on the top.  On the way up, I took pictures of the mountains and rock formations around the mountain.

As  a little bonus, I took a picture of a few animals.
